Nice and Easy Mini Pavlovas
With the warm weather upon us, many of our favourite desserts can end up being a bit heavy and so we seek out lighter options. A pavlova is a great tasting dessert, made up of a meringue base, traditionally topped with fruit and cream.
It is named after the famous ballerina and thought to have been created in her honour during or after one of her tours to Australia and New Zealand.
As great as they taste though, making them can be a little tricky due to one element: the meringue. While there are hundreds of recipes out there to make meringues, if you are not an avid baker, things may not always turn out how you would like. So why not simply remove the time and stress involved?
We stock some lovely meringues, made by a great company called The Cotswold Meringue Company. A family owned business, they have been hand making meringues over two generations and the quality is incredible.
So, onto the recipe.
You will need:
1x 4 pack of Plain Meringue Nests
1x portion of your favourite fruit (we like to go traditional with strawberries, raspberries, blackberries or blueberries)
1x large pot of single or double cream
This will serve up to 4 people and takes literally minutes to put together, so you can spend more time enjoying your dessert than making it.
While we are sure you can work this one out yourself, here is a quick rundown of what to do.
1. Place the Meringues onto plates, one plate for each person (not necessarily one per meringue)
2. Place your fruit on top of the Meringues
3. Generously pour the cream over the top of everything.
4. Serve and Enjoy!
And that is it. No piles of washing up, no worry about burning the meringues in the oven, or having some turn out better than others. Just quick, easy and tasty pavlovas.
It is so simple, we even did it ourselves in the office, just look at some pictures below:
