With a unique flavour, leeks are a healthy, nutritious and flavoursome vegetable. Once you start eating them they will be a vital addition to your fridge and you'll never want to go back to an ordinary onion again. With a milder and slightly sweeter taste than onions, leeks have a beautifully gentle flavour, adding a wonderful new flavour to a stir fry or salad.

Our fruit and vegetables come from the locally sourced The Green Berry. The organic produce is far more environmentally friendly than our supermarket counterparts, and a lot tastier too! We choose this way because we have a duty to succeed in helping the planet become a greener and more efficient place for everyone.

When you are cleaning your leeks, you should not slice the top green leaves completely off. The white part of the leek will go up further than you thought, so only take off the green parts that you can see. Leeks can be used for stuffing, making soup, or eating alone as a side dish. If the recipe demands slicing, trim and rinse them, then cut them into slices and give a further rinse using a colander Leeks are best kept in your fridge. If you wrap them in plastic, your leeks will retain their moisture for longer.
Remember to wash all fruits & veggies before eating.
