Our farmers have just harvested their first new potato crops of the year. Enjoy these tender, flaky potatoes at their best just lightly boiled or steamed. You can also roast them. They are absolutely beautiful.
Mr. Douthwaite, has just started to harvest his new potatoes from the fertile soils of the south-facing Lindley Farm. The south facing fields benefit from sunshine throughout the winter months, and have excellent drainage – all crucial elements needed when growing the perfect potato.
Storage & prep
Please do not peel new potatoes. Simply rub any flaky skin gently from the surface. Always put new potatoes into boiling water to seal in the flavour. Adding a touch of salt to the water is a matter of personal preference. Our beautiful new potatoes should be stored in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. They are suitable for home freezing. Remember to wash all fruits & veggies before eating.
